GET INVOLVED IN THE 2001
OREGON LEGISLATUREAlthough we won't know until after the November election exactly who will be serving in the next Oregon Legislature, our planning is well underway for the session that will begin in January.
We'll be upgrading our Bill of Rights Lobby e-mail list-serve in the next few months in order to better alert members to key legislation that affect civil liberties. The idea is to provide timely updates so that you can contact your state representative or senator to let them know that their vote will make a difference to you, their constituent.
ACLU long has maintained a very visible presence in Salem during legislative sessions, but expanding our ability to mobilize members could greatly enhance our existing lobbying program. We want the Legislature to know that we speak for many Oregonians from all over the state, including their own constituents.
We promise not to flood you with e-mail, but will ask you for action only on the occasions when your letter, e-mail or phone can really make a difference. If you're interested, please send us your email address at aclu_eug@efn.org and we'll sign you up. As the new session begins, we'll send you more information on our plans and how you can take action right from your home.
